Corrosion Awareness Day is an opportunity for corrosion and coatings industry professionals worldwide to inform business leaders, government officials and the public about the effects of corrosion on people, assets, and the environment, and what can be done to mitigate and control it.
The global cost of corrosion is estimated to be US$2.5 trillion, which is equivalent to 3.4% of the global GDP (2013). AMPP members in more than 130 countries are united in the fight against corrosion to protect critical infrastructure by studying the behavior of materials and coatings in different environments and innovating new ways to monitor, mitigate, and prevent corrosion.
Join AMPP and your industry peers in ‘Sharing Your Story’
If you are a CORROSION 2021 Virtual Conference & Expo attendee, chances are the corrosion industry or community has positively impacted you in some way. Join colleagues from around the globe in sharing what drives their passion to work in the corrosion industry. Share your story as a status update on social media (i.e., LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) by answering any or all of the following questions as a post in your feed.

Experiments at Home
Looking for a way to share your passion for corrosion with your family? In 2005, the NACE Foundation developed the Corrosion Toolkit (cKit™) to create a fun and stimulating learning experience for students to help challenge, inspire and educate students on corrosion science and engineering.
Check out this video demonstration presented by Andy Nydam on ‘Experiment #3: Fruit “Juice” Objective.
