The best student posters will be recognized in the Student Poster Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 29 at 1 p.m. CST. During this ceremony, first-place, second-place, and third-place posters in three poster categories will be announced, along with the best undergraduate poster. The winning students will receive monetary prizes, sponsored by BP, and the first-place winners of each category will be invited to publish an open access Poster Award Research Letter in CORROSION journal, the sponsoring publication.
More than 60 students participated in the association’s first virtual Student Poster Session. These posters were grouped into three categories: the Harvey Herro category for the field of applied corrosion technology, the Mars Fontana category for the field of corrosion engineering, and the Marcel Pourbaix category for the field of corrosion science. Judges, topical experts selected by Student Poster Chair Raghu Srinivasan and Vice Chair Saba Navabzadeh, underwent several rounds of judging to arrive at the winning posters.
In addition to announcing the Student Poster Award winners, the Foundation Scholarship Award recipients will be recognized during the ceremony. The ceremony can be viewed on the Community Sessions and Awards page at the event time.
